Item Description
A Michael McCurdy wood engraving portrait of Thoreau, accompanied by the famous quote from Walden: "I learned this, at least, by my experiment: that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours." This passage from Walden was hand-printed in an edition of 400 at the Penmaen Press of Lincoln, Massachusetts, during May 1977. The original wood engraving is by Michael McCurdy. Two hundred were numbered and signed by the artist. This one is #44 of 200. Framed, it measures about 17 x 25 inches.
