Item Description
Karen Holm is the co-founder and show producer of the Rubbish Renewed Eco Fashion Show in Bend, Oregon. Over its 10 year run, the auctioning of Karen’s "trash fashion" pieces have raised nearly $10,000 for REALMS Middle School’s fieldwork program. From historical film and adventure slides, to rifle cartridges and bicycle tubes, her distinctive pieces are in collections from British Columbia to Berkley. Since the material for "Any Way the Wind Blows" is a long retired Camp Nor’wester C-Lark sail, Karen has donated this unique piece for auction here!
Rubbish Renewed runway description for "Any Way the Wind Blows" January 25, 2020 modeled by Jess Lawro: Get ready to set sail in this truly sea-worthy number made entirely from the sail of a C-Lark. This spent sail sat soiled for 20+ years after the fleet of Camp Nor’wester C-Larks were retired. Hoist these perfect lines over the mast and get ready to be blown away. Whether you are taken to overseas adventures in exotic places or simply docking in port and exploring dry land, this easy-breezy dress and paired blazer is perfect. Let it carry you...any way the wind blows.
Here's a video of this piece on the runway at Rubbish Renewed 2020!
