Item Description
Challenging, enchanting and enthralling, the artful innovations of Walt Disney's Fantasia continue to surprise and inspire since its release in 1940. Much as classical music led to its imagery, now the visual splendor of this animated masterpiece exalts the finest of writing instruments.
Like the glittering stars themselves, no two Monteverde Fantasia pens are alike. Using handmade hook-shaped paint brushes, artists employ and ancient technique, Nabu, to apply delicate pigments to the inside of specially textured, clear acrylic pen barrels.
Just as the celluloid paintings created for each frame of the original motion picture, so too are the details of each Fantasia pen painted in reverse - beginning with foreground detail elements and progressively building up toward the background. In the exacting Nabu process no errors can occur. Once the final layer of oil wash is applied, each cylindrical masterwork is quickly sealed to prevent any possible damage and preserve its beauty forever.
