Item Description
A-30 Poster Illustrating Cathare History in France In French, 27.5” x 39”. I lived in the Pyrenees Mountains in France for two years (1985-1987) in the shadow of Cathare castles. One was at the top of the hill (Roquefixade) and another within view (Montégur). There is no purpose in trying to relate the dramatic story of the Cathares and their ultimate fate. Most likely you would need to know that history to be interested in this poster. I bought it at a bookstore in Rennes-le-Chateau, the site of mysteries featured in Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code. There is indeed a mystery there, but I don’t think the novelists and conspiracy dealers have it right. Just know that the Cathares were the final flowering of Gnosticism and the fight between good and evil.
