Item Description

The highest bidder will receive two tickets to the Murder & Mayhem Walking Tour, plus a Centennial book. (THIS WEEKEND!) *BIDDING FOR THIS ITEM WILL CLOSE AT 8PM ON MAY 1 TO GIVE WINNER AND DONOR ADVANCED NOTICE.

Spend the day with Beacon's Victorian Gossiper as she shares gruesome accounts of Beacon's history.  Experience the great Thaw escape from Matteawan prison, interview a serial killer, witness the battle of the sexes, along with other murder mysteries and crime hidden in the shadows of Beacon's history.

  • The tour is approximately 1 hour and .5 miles of walking. 
  • Please arrive 15 minutes before your tour to sign in at the ticket table.
  • The tour path is not accommodated for the mobility impaired.
  • We will be walking along gravel pathways, challenging steps and staircases, city street sidewalks and grassy areas with limited lighting after 8:00 pm
  • Children must be 12 and older and accompanied by a parent 
    or guardian.
  • For tour times after dark, each person will be provided with a lantern light, you are welcome to bring your own flashlights as well.
  • We suggest you wear comfortable shoes, warm (in case of cold) and rainproof in case of light rain. The tour will be canceled for stronger storms.
  • Check the website and emails provided in your ticket purchase for notifications.
  • The Beacon Historical Society does not provide parking for the tour. However, free municipal parking is located on city streets 
    or municipal parking lots throughout town.
  • Pets are not allowed on the tour.
  • Level of Fear : Most of the tour is presenting historical stories, however young children may find the shared crime stories and frightening-- parents/guardians must use their own judgment for their children

Tours are held every 1/2 hour between 6 and 9pm.

Winner should contact (845) 765-9570 to schedule their tour as soon as auction ends.  Each tour is limited to 20 guests, and they fill quickly.
