Introduction To Creating Beautiful Hand-Forged Jewelry. Forging: An ancient technique of flattening or shaping metal by hammering. Silver and copper are usually forged at room temperature. It’s easier than you think! Come, bring a friend if you wish and unlock your creativity by forging fabulous pieces with your own two hands. Each person will create at least 1 pair of earrings to keep. We will learn using copper wire and quickly progress to sterling silver and Argentium silver wire. All materials are included.
Kari Auerbach is an NYC iSchool parent, a New York Institute of Art + Design Instructor in the jewelry dept. Kari owned and operated her own NYC store for a decade. This beginners 1 - 1.5 hr lesson is open to 1 or 2 people and will take place in her NYC midtown apt. at a time of your choosing.
The winners will enjoy the following: Demonstration and Personalized Instruction, 1+ hrs. -Argentium Silver wire, Sterling Silver wire, and Copper wire to create with. -Prefabricated Sterling Silver or Argentium Silver ear wires to hang your creations on. (clips avail. if needed!) -An assortment of semi-precious beads, glass and vintage beads. -A gift pouch
