A tapestry is a work of art. As much as a painter enlivens a canvas, a sculptor re-imagines a piece of stone, or a photographer captures a moment, our master artisans transform silk into woven art forms. From worm to loom, each tapestry is handmade from 100% pure silk, hand-dyed and hand-woven on a traditional wooden loom, often taking longer than a week to complete. No two are exactly alike. Use them as innovative wall hangings, sumptuous bed or table runners, and as unique fashion accessories.
Welcome. We began Silk Tapestries with a simple idea: provide art collectors with great value, exceptional quality, handmade, hand-loomed works of art. Tapestries are often overlooked as art forms, where throughout much of the world they adorn interiors and individuals in fascinating ways. Inspired by our travels and art collecting in Southeast Asia, and with more than fourteen years of professional experience in luxury travel and fine art, we have carefully sourced beautiful tapestries that are fairly traded and unique reflections of the artists who create them for us.
