Item Description
Own an elite collection of fine wines, thoughtfully chosen and donated by the Chair of Congressional School’s Board of Trustees. In selecting the wines, consideration was given to each winemaker’s vision and that visions’ connection to the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Congressional School. Enjoy!
- Keplinger Fuego Y Mar 2014: Helen Keplinger, being a very successful winemaker in Napa Valley, shared her talents and experiences with Ntsiki Biyela, South Africa’s first black woman winemaker to collaborate and make her own wine. Helen’s wine was chosen because she collaborated, created, and co-lead a project which aligns perfectly with Congressional School’s values.
- Aston Estate Pinot Noir 2013: Who from Virginia would not want to try wines from University of Virginia graduate Thomas Rivers Brown? Thomas make wines for Aston Estate (Schrader) among other wineries.
- Rivers-Marie Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2013: Thomas Rivers Brown, a graduate of the University of Virginia, and winemaker for Aston Estates, also produces stellar wines under his own label Rivers-Marie.
- Rubissow Trompettes 2015: The staff at Rubissow winery in Mount Veeder have always been kind and respectful. This Rubissow wine was chosen because earlier vintages of this blend were served at Per Se in New York.
- The Mascot 2012: Mascot, made from the younger wines from Harlan Estate, was specifically made to be shared with friends. One of Congressional’s core values is kindness. The eventual winner will probably have people lined up outside their house hoping this wine will be shared with them.
- Le Reve 2012: Le Reve is the flagship sparkling wine from Domaine Carneros. Its inclusion in the wine collection represents our school’s Core Values in that Le Reve has been served at 3 United States Presidential Inaugurations with the winners coming from both major political parties.
