Item Description
A Sail on Historic Ship in the Archipelago of Southern Funen
Svendborg is the perfect departure point for exploring this amazing cluster of 55 southern Danish islands and is therefore also the darling of European sailing enthusiasts. In Svenborg harbor, packed with yachts and older wooden boats and schooners, you will find Maritime Center Denmark located in a historic landmarked warehouse. The Center focuses on the history of maritime life and offers the public access to the many historic vessels still sailing in this yachtsmen’s haven. Maritime Center Denmark has arranged for a four-hour summer sail on the historic vessel Meta for you and five additional guests. From June 25 to August 25, 2019 the ship leaves Svendborg at 10:00 am on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays, or from Rudkøbing on Wednesdays and Fridays. During the four-hour voyage you will make a stop on a small idyllic island (either Skarø or Strynø) to also take in the beauty of this area from the land.
