Nate Andersen is a classical and jazz trained pianist from the SF Bay Area, with nearly 30 years of experience. After moving to NY in 2008, Nate has spent his time teaching by day and playing professionally by night. His renowned piano instruction here in NYC has become extremely popular in Tribeca and the Financial District, where he privately instructs 35 students a week.
"I tend to think of myself teaching patience, rather than music. And in this age of technology, patience is hard to come by."
Nate studied at CSU Sonoma graduating with a BA in (Music jazz studies) instructed by the late Bassist, Mel Graves. He has performed at local venues such as Rockwood Music Hall, Bitter End, and Sidewalk Cafe, as well as larger venues such as Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall and the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. He continues to push himself as an artist and is currently studying uptown with Dizzy Gillespie's pianist, Michael Longo.
