Item Description

Fall, Winter or Spring weekend at our home which is located in a quite hollow beside the Kline Kill (stream) at the dead end of a country lane 10 minutes from Hudson in southern Columbia County. A newly constructed Great Room integrates seamlessly with the original house built in the 1800's and renovated recently to blend modern living with historic charm. The well-stocked kitchen features blue stone counters, meticulously planned lighting, and new appliances. French doors lead onto a screened-in porch with wrought iron couch, chairs, and dining table.

One king-sized bedroom is on the main floor with a full bath. Upstairs is another king-size bedroom, plus a queen bedroom and single bedroom. A half bath serves those three rooms. Both king bedrooms can be converted into two twin beds

Our lush, wooded setting is home to a wonderful assortment of wildlife, including ducks, herons, hummingbirds, beavers, frogs, all kinds of bird-feeder birds, and more. Outdoor amenities include two hammocks, basketball hoop, bicycle riding, badminton and croquet, two decks, a canoe, a grill, and our stream side shower is a favorite!

A short stroll over the historic Walkers Mills Bridge (restored in 2017 for pedestrian use only) leads to panoramic Catskill views across vast the rolling meadows of the Rockefeller estate.

Local attractions within a 5-15 minute drive include Warren Street in Hudson, the concert halls and museums at Bard College, Olana Historic House, Twin Lakes Park and Taghkanic Lake State Park (both with swimming), Livingston Park with tennis court, six wineries/breweries/distilleries, boat access to the Hudson River, orchards for apple picking, and more. The Catskill and Berkshire mountains are approximately 30 minutes away, as is the Rails to Trails bike path near Bash Bish Falls.
