Item Description
Enjoy a pass to Go Ape.
Go Ape’s first treetop adventure course (zip lines, obstacles and more!) in Tennessee is just minutes from downtown Memphis in Shelby Farms Park. Shelby Farms, in the heart of Shelby County, is one of the largest urban parks in the United States, with more green space than New York’s Central Park or San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. Tree-mendous!
Go Ape Shelby Farms is set within a gorgeous pine forest and borders Pine Lake, one of the park’s 20+ bodies of water. More than just a canopy tour, the course is made up of numerous rope ladders, 41 exciting crossings to include the Log Swing, High Tibetan Bridge, Flying Carpet, Yamazoe Steps, 2 Tarzan swings and 6 zip lines, 5 of which take you soaring across Pine Lake at birdseye view. Overall, there are 6 individual sections within the course, each section taking you higher into the forest canopy and finishing with a zip line more exciting than the previous one! Zip Lines #2, #3, #4 and #5 are all well over 450 feet in length and the entire course consists of over 2,500 feet worth of zip lines!
Spend a day at Shelby Farms to enjoy all the park has to offer. Before or after your Go Ape adventure, check out the park’s disc golf course, rent a bike or hike to explore the park on forest paths or paved trails, play at the Woodland Discovery Playground, or admire the natural beauty of the park’s extensive wildlife and buffalo herd. Looking for more? The park also features horseback riding, lasertag & paintball, and BMX riding.
Item Special Note
The Go Ape Treetop Adventure Course does require a degree of physical fitness but if you can climb up a rope ladder you should be fine. Although, we do have some participant restrictions we created to ensure you have a fun safe experience on the course. The restrictions for an individual and the supervision ratio are:
Minimum age: 10 years old
Minimum height: 4ft 7in (55 inches)
Maximum weight: 285 lbs (subject to harness fit)
Supervision: One participating adult (18+) is required to supervise up to two 10-15 year olds. 16-17 year olds do not require a supervising adult, but do require a waiver signed by their legal guardian or an adult (18+) who has obtained permission from the 16-17 year olds legal guardian.
For 16-17 year olds, we recommend printing the waiver at home and bringing a signed copy to Go Ape.
Harnesses: At Go Ape we use harnesses to make sure you’re nice and safe throughout your time on the course. The maximum waist measurement of the harness is 43 inches and the leg loops (which go around the top of your thighs) is 28 inches. If you’re unsure about the fit of the harness, feel free to come by the cabin before your booking time and we’ll help you try one on.
Can we watch our friends and family Go Ape from the forest ground?
Gift Certificate will be emailed to auction winner after the close of the auction on February 5. For questions, contact libby.smith@cmom.com.
