Item Description
From the artist's website - Andrew Thompson is an artist and craftsman whose signature works of fish and wildlife unite multiple disciplines including painting, woodworking, traditional bookbinding and design.
Each piece is an artistic inquiry into the natural world and draws from a deep pool of influences. Frames are integral to the paintings- each one uniquely crafted for a specific project. Combining painting with the design and building of frames makes for a rich creative process that is reflected in the overall work.
Andrew’s work has been exhibited extensively in New York and the Adirondacks and is included in private collections throughout the country.
Andrew also supports conservation and uses his work as a vehicle for advocacy.
He lives and works in his native Brooklyn, as well as Hague, New York, a small town on Lake George in the Adirondacks.
