Item Description
Have Breakfast after drop off with Helen Rosenthal, Candidate for City Council in her home on April 5th 9am-11am. Ask her about the race. Let her know about the issues that you think NYC government should address.
Bio Helen Rosenthal has proven herself to be a leader on city and national issues. After 7 years of working with city budgets in three mayoral administrations she was appointed to Upper West Side’s Community Board 7 where she was elected Chair of the Board for two terms and where she continues to be a member. Helen led efforts to start two public schools, improve budget transparency, secure affordable housing, decrease school overcrowding, and promote investments in the community. She currently chairs the board of ParentJobNet, a non-profit that helps provide education and job opportunities to school parents, and serves on the boards of several other community organizations. She’s a long-time advocate of a woman’s right to choose and worked to defend that right as a board member at NARAL ProChoice America and NOW-NYC. Along with the New Yorkers Against Gun Violence and Protest Easy Guns, Helen organized annual events at Times Square to fight the illegal sale of guns and close gun-show loopholes. Helen is committed to continuing the tradition of strong, progressive leadership that the Upper West Side has been known for, and would be honored to serve her community as their next City Council person.
