Item Description
1 week of summer Camp Intrepid 2013 for campers ages 5-13 to explore life at sea, aviation, inventions and astronomy. Exciting weekly themes such as, Intrepid Undercover, Passport to Europe, Ancient Navies, A Pirate’s Life, and Out of This World, are but a few topics we’ll be investigating this summer.
Camp Intrepid campers investigate weekly theme using exhibits and hands - on interactives aboard the largest artifact-the Intrepid. An addition to the museum, our newly acquired orbiter, Enterprise, housed in the Space Shuttle Pavilion, will be open to campers so they can view and interact with the pavilion’s NASA exhibits, chronicling its space history. Here campers explore the connection between the Intrepid and NASA, from Mercury capsule to the shuttle. Camp Intrepid is a place to discover the answers to children’s questions as they explore and unlock its secrets. Using the museum’s unique venue and incorporating its exhibits with creative activities, our campers become engaged in history and science through interactive, fun and challenging projects.
