Nicholas Monte Sano established himself as a fixture in the Mishawaka communmity as the owner and oerator of Nick's Barber Shop for fifty years, retiring in 1980. He served in the Army during WWII as a surgical technician. Painting was his hobby, and he especially enjoyed oil paintings depicting the Mishawaka area and Notre Dame He also enjoyed traveling with his wife to Europe, Mexico and Hawaii.
