Starting on November 9th, SPECIAL OLYMPICS MICHIGAN INC will be auctioning off a number of fun and unique items to bid on to raise money for our organization - and the more items we have the more money we can raise, so we're asking for your help.

Join us for the Special Olympics Michigan Ties and Tennies Gala on Friday, November 9, 2018 at the Detroit Athletic Club from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. to raise funds in support of our programs and athletes. The Ties and Tennies Gala is the organization's signature event held in southeast Michigan which has the largest athlete population served in all of Michigan.

This is the eighth annual Gala for Special Olympics Michigan. Be a part of a fun, sporty night of dining and dancing. 

The evening will be emceed by WXYZ's Ann Marie LaFlamme, who is a passionate supporter of Special Olympics Michigan. Born and raised in Rochester Hills, Ann Marie has emceed and volunteered at numerous SOMI events and also taken part in the annual Polar Plunge multiple times. Prior to joining WXYZ in March 2015, Ann Marie spent time at WXMI in Grand Rapids and WWTV in Cadillac.

The Special Olympics Movement can ultimately transform communities by inspiring people throughout the world to open their minds, to accept and include people with intellectual disabilities, and thereby celebrate differences among all people, in the context of the greater similarities we all share.

Tickets are $150/individual, $300/couple or $2,000/table.
